Will the price of mobile phones increase?/ Lack of 2 million mobile phones in the market

mobile phone importing companies whose goods are behind the customs are still living in currency uncertainty

40 mobile phone importing companies whose goods are behind the customs are still living in currency uncertainty. It seems that the central bank does not intend to specify the source of their currency supply. This caused the market to face a shortage of two million mobile phones. Will this trend lead to an increase in the price of mobile phones?

According to Tejarat News, according to the current conditions, the upward trend of mobile phone prices is likely to be maintained. This is the warning given by the head of the phone and accessory sellers union.

Ebrahim Darshti informed Shafan News that no foreign currency will be allocated to phones above 600 dollars. According to his statements, the currency of these phones has been undecided for two months, and a large amount of shipments are getting dusted behind the customs. An issue that may cause a shortage of mobile phones in the market in the coming months and subsequently increase the price.

Does the lack of goods increase the price of mobile phones?

Mohammad Reza Alian, the spokesperson of the Mobile, Tablet and Accessories Importers Association, told Tjarat News: Whenever the balance between supply and demand is disturbed, the market loses its natural trend. Therefore, price changes or lack of goods happen in the market body.

He continued: From May 27 until today, no currency was allocated for the import of mobile phones. It means that even phones below 600 dollars were not ordered. Statistics show that from the beginning of the year to the end of June, four million devices were imported into the country, among which 260,000 phones were related to goods above 600 dollars. The value of this number of phones is estimated at 970 million dollars. That means $230 million less than the first three months of last year.

He added: Based on this, we are now facing a shortage of two million phones. The government tries not to upset the balance between supply and demand. Of course, there are still two million devices in the market, which will satisfy the needs of customers until the end of summer. But if the trend continues, we will face a shortage of goods. For example, in September, when schools open, the demand for mobile phones increases. That’s when we face a serious problem and the price of the mobile phone is affected.
